dusty photoshop

i’ve been working on some new ways to post process my photos lately & the result is this deep, dusty, blue tinted effect. i quite like it. as soon as i can get my screen cast program to run i will record my process and post it on here.

even though i have roughly 26,735 actions stored in my photoshop vault-o-stuff i still like to post process my photos somewhat organically. the only time i don’t do this is when i have a ton of family-function type photos to get through, i’ll even batch process those suckas. there is something i really enjoy about editing photos one by one; getting to spend a little time on each one & making it special.

i’ve been painting a bit recently…& loving it.

i think original art should be something you love & affordable. i have 2 tiny (6 x 6 inch) & 1 (12 x 12 inch, above) paintings in my shop right now. i did paint a larger square painting recently, but that one got hung up in the apartment & is not for sale. i have some even smaller canvases to try out this weekend. eep!

the night sky, slightly abstract painting above is one of my favorites.

+ i really want to try dying yarn… people even use kool-aid. i’m scared to only because i’m pretty sure it will take over my apartment.
+ the boy is building me a bench for my (indoor) window garden, can’t wait until it’s done so i can share.
+ & about the august break, i stumbled upon this lovely blog while perusing the blogroll links. effing awesome layout.

it’s that time of year again…roid week (2012)!
check out the flickr group page for some seriously awesome & inspiring polaroids.
i recently bought a polaroid OneStep SX-70 Rainbow camera & some impossible project film. i’ve been having a hard time getting used to the exposure and uncertainty of the film. i did get some neat fails though. heh. just need to practice more…

i love the august break. it’s already the 3rd, so i got a bit of a late start, but i’m hoping to keep up with it. yay summer! yay photos!

& i just might have bought myself an sx70 polaroid camera (one step – white/rainbow)…

that’s the window in our home office / spare bed room. the room is still getting fixed & prettied up.

i have found a few lovely things to share with you this week:
& thomas jackson photography. um. wow. seriously?! wow.
& a future present‘s blog. lovely.
& the disposable heroes project. support the troops, even if you didn’t/don’t support the war.
& perry large fold-over bag.
& a lovely video (mini-documentary) on letterpress. upside down, left to right.

& quickie updates:
+ been watching boardwalk empire, halfway through the first season and i’m really enjoying it.
+ pebbles had to go to the vet today – i think she has a yeast issue in her stomach. lola had it once before.
+ been knitting like crazy lately. yay.
+ slowly opening up the etsy shop again. double yay.
+ can’t wait for the weekend!

if you follow me on instagram (@aerb) you will notice quite a few beer related photos popping up now & then. i love beer. i love craft beers. i have also noticed that my closest of friends all like beer as well; it is usually around during our get-togethers. i will admit that when i started college i was not much of a beer drinker. blah-light, nasty light, & all the typical beers found in a keg were not my style. somehow i made my way into more flavorful beers & even made friends with brewers & beer aficionados. the rest is history. my all time favorite type of beer?…stouts. i really love stouts. of course guinness, but i have recently been into barney flats oatmeal stout. besides, who doesn’t love a bear with antlers?!

perhaps i will start reviewing some of the beers i try out. it would be a good way for me to remember what i like…
