the boy & i moved into a cute 2 bedroom apartment with lots of windows & natural light (yay). it is a bit on the older side, compared to other things out there, but we like it just the same. since we are currently renters we can’t really do much about the odd location of the fire extinguisher. it’s on the kitchen wall, a bit off-center. weird. so i decided to hang a few random things around it: a squished absolut bottle that was done by a local glass artist & a butterfly that i made in a glass fusion class i took a while back. it’s suppose to have glass shards hanging from the bottom three hooks but i just couldn’t bring myself to add such tackiness. as if the three things together aren’t tacky enough, eh? hah. i suppose i’ll share more photos of how we put this place together as time progresses. right now it is looking pretty drab.
any odd things in your house/apt that you have to creatively cover up? radiators, fuse boxes, etc…

I’ve been meaning to ask where you guys are living… we’re about to move too! i’ve never seen a fire extinguisher on the wall… that’s so silly.. you can’t put it under the sink or something? oh the quirks of apartment life, haha. i want to take a glass fusion class.. that sounds awesome!
Well that is an odd combination haha – I don’t really have anything in my place that I cover up… besides the power box that’s behind the entry door – that’s where I hang my coats
Haha awesome – our current apartment is pretty up-to-date and there really aren’t any eyesores. however, our old apartment back in jersey (being a 200+ year-old building) was riddled with quirky bits – But it was these odds and ends that gave the space character so we actually did nothing to cover them (we would actually point out them out when people came to visit
).
aww cute glass art! At our previous house we had an awful 70s window air conditioner that my boyfriend refused to update lol. awful.
my studio doesn’t have anything to cover up other then a hole i created in the closet…oops:) my biggest challenge is storage, we have zero and it is beyond frustrating.
That absolut bottle is very cool!
we live in an older house but there isn’t anything too bad that needs covering up. we did have an odd opening under the stairs when we moved in. too short to stand up in…kind of a triangle and deep. what the heck was i supposed to do with that. i had built in made, bookshelves, wine rack etc…so now it looks like it was always there and it’s useful!
he he – I like this little grouping! We have the same odd things going on in our new place, too (though mostly due to shoddy construction – lol) – there’s a whole cluster of cables hanging out of the kitchen wall and a hole in the wood floor – I’m inspired to make a little cluster of things out of those, now!

That wall art is sweet! It reminds of a museum (there’s always fire extinguishers on walls it seems)
